Commercial Description:
The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

2005 vintage bottle. Oh my lord. Who in their right mind could create a beer like this. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a true nectar of the gods. Poured a deep brown with little off-white head. The aroma was an assault on the sense with licorice, molasses, vanilla, raisins and oak. It was dry on the palate like a red wine with an oak flavor and a lot of alcohol. This beer is definitely not for everyone only those who can brave the beast.

22oz. Bomber: WOW! Coppery dark amber color. There was about no head at all. The nose contains alcohol, clove, caramel, fruits, god knows what else: there is a lot in there. Sweet taste with smokiness, fruits, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. Very warming. I'm sure there a lot of hops in here, but their flavor is masked by everything else. This is really exceptional. Thanks to slob for the great trade!

Clear amber color with a beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, smoke and some dark fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty, raisons, dates... The alcohol is pretty well hidden except for the warming effect. Has a hoppy finish.

On tap at the source, 4/15/06, with help from none other than Larry Avery: He told us it was 18% ABV. Holy crap! Strong sugary beer that’s wickedly easy to drink (dangerously so). Almost a wine-like mouthfeel. Outstanding strong ale.

Beautiful ruby red color with a medium off-white head. Strong raisin and candy apple aroma. Extremely sweet candy apple, brown sugar, maple syrup, grape and alcohol flavors. Fairly well carbonated for a very tingly feel, and a surprisingly dry finish. Yummy!

An incredibly sweet beer. Strong but not over-hopped, it certainly does not remind one of most beers of this style. Still. It’s good stuff.

yes yes yes!! the aroma is just beautiful, a very complex hoppy aroma blended with a soursness of a flemish sour ale! dark ruby red, with a firm head, lacing. Taste is heavy on the hoppy sife, little sours, with the avarage palate of an american strong ale. This is a delightful, domintant brew, with some kick ass finish.. give me more! thanks to whaleman for this treat

What a beer that thedm picked out for my #1000! Oh my God! Wow! A favorite beer style of mine along with a high ABV to boot! Oh my God! Wow! Bottled in 2004. 22oz bottle. Poured a small sized tan head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly dissipated. The body was carbonated, transparent and a ruby hue. Beautiful! The aroma was just as beautiful...malty, caramel, sweet, spicy notes, raisins, and alcohol. The flavor was extremely to my liking since I so much enjoy high ABV beers. It was sweet tasting, alcohol, and cherries. The mouthfeel was tingly and it had an alcohol burn in the back of the throat. The lacing was sparse. Definitely a sipping beer. Hoping to get another bottle of this to age. This is definitely a kick-ass beer!! Party on!!
