Commercial Description:
The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

A hazy ruby, chestnut/brown. Quickly diminishing head, carbonation slowly rising through beer, slight lace barely clinging on. Incredible aroma of candied sugars, toffee, slight caramel, peppery spices, banana, estery (other fruit), very aromatic yeast, moderate hop presence and alcohol. Full bodied, slightly syrupy, smooth as hell, better then slight carbonation. First thing I get is a huge belgium-like flavor rush of sweet malt interplaying with the sugars, esters and luscious yeast character. Just a very belgium, quadruple profile. The alcohol is there for sure but not distracting at all. The hops are hardcore but the bitterness is kept at bay by the seducing sweetness and vice-versa. Flavor is sweet but very integrated and balanced with nuances that jump in and out through the whole session. Warming in the chest and alot of fucking fun to drink. Very dangerous brew. I bet 6 months in cellar will make him a totally different beast. Thank you Ecrvich.

Vintage 2008 – The Wine Shoppe (tasting) – Myrtle Beach, SC. Thanks for sharing, Chuck! Clear copper, off-white creamy head. Intense brandy cream and cognac infused dark fruit cake aromas ride deep undercurrents of Grand Marnier and hints of cherry almond. Candied pineapple and orange rye-like flavors give way to a closing soft finale of warming brown sugary booze. Full bodied and slick, soft carbonation, sweet fruity finish. If ever there was a perfect cigar beer….

Shared a bottle with some of the San Diego dirty crew at O’Briens. Well I had most of it, ouch! Well it was a dark red color with a decent head and lacing. The flavor did not show the alcohol as much as I had imagined. The were some vanilla, cherries, whiskey, and alcohol in there. A nice one indeed.

Mahogany red color. Small head. Aroma is sweet malt and dark fruit. A full bodied ale, syrupy and thick. Malts are heavy and sweet. Hops are spicy and floral. Nicely balanced. Thick and syrupy like a sherry or a port. No trace of the 15.7% alcohol, there is a little oiliness but there is no alcohol bite or burn. Very smooth. Lots of sherry like qualities. Tastes of dark fruit, wood and smoke. Dangerous beer as the alcohol will up and smack ya one. Excellent beer. Will love to try this one after it has some time to bottle age. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth and a touch dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Aroma is fruity, sweet, and alcoholic, specifically grapes and caramel sweetness. Appearance is good - deep amber in color with a rather thin light tan head and some lacing. The flavor is fantastic and covers up the overriding taste of alcohol very well. Sweet fruit up front with a roasted malt finish with all of the chocolate overtones that you’d expect. There’s a slight hint of banana as well. The alcohol creates a burning sensation on the way down but my mouth is so preoccupied with everything else that I hardly notice the burn. A very nice brew.

An awesome beer! The flavor is like a belgian in front, but finishes like an imperial stout. I consider myself fortunate to only have had this beast.

Pours a dark reddish copper with a thick biege head. Aroma is sweet, fruity and spicey. Nice full and thick mouthfeel. Dark fruits, spices, caramel, honey, and mild hops on the tongue. Very good job of covering up the alcohol. I was really suprised by this beer. I didn't not expect it to be nearly as good as it was. This was a great beer with lots of flavor.

Red Coloring with White Ring. I’d Be Lying if I Said the Immense Alcohol Wasn’t Noticeable, But in Actuality, It’s Much More Balanced Then one Would Think. Fruity, Alcohol Aroma.. Some Bread Dough. The Alcohol is the Domineering Character... Very Enjoyable Beast!!
