chrisafari (79), Orange, California, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle from Rod’s Liquor in Orange, Ca. Pours amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet hops and slightly citrusy. Flavor begins sweet and hoppy, but ends with alcohol, roasted malts and a mild citrus. A very well-balanced Imperial IPA, the Hops don’t dominate too much. Overall a very enjoyable Imperial IPA!
Nik925 (127), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Low head, but understandable for the alcohol level (which slips by undetected). Also a little thick, but once again ok for the alcohol%. Even with those disclaimers, it has an amazing mouth feel. The bitter is kept in check somehow. This is a hop showcase. An awesome beer. drjay44 (125), USA Sep 1, 2008 22 oz. bottle, 10.21% ABV. This is apparently another batch. Nice tan, tightly bubbled head, marvelous nose with pine, floral hop overtones, pleasant copper color, good heavy mouthfeel ...multiple layers of flavor, citrus, malt, hop floral and bitter. Quite wonderful balance considering 102 IBU’s and over10% alcohol. EHopper (129), Minnesota, USA Aug 31, 2008 A nice citrus and malt imperial IPA. Kind of a "normal" flavor, without the high level of hops that screams out in so many of this variety. I love strong, bright hops, and so this is not my favorite, but very good for people not looking for in your face hops. Kind of reminds me of a less complex and refined version of Dogfish Head 90. The beer was a little thick for me, and the alcohol made this beer warm from start to finish. Bhops (200), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 29, 2008 this beer grew on me. Bottle courtesy of mar. Pours copper/ruby reddish color, thick foam head. Aroma of hops, pine and grass. Good sharp hoppy flavor but not overpowering or puckering. I prefer not to be run over by hops and this beer didn’t. Good brew. oberabcbbsok (682), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 29, 2008 Tasted 10.54 version on draft. Very nice and good tasting beer, well ballanced, very hoppy and a good bitter taste makes this a better beer
