Bottle (Probably a year or so vintage) - The little liquor store I frequent is out the way enough that they have a few treats which tend to be nicely aged because its normal customers buy 40s and cheap vodka. Pours a reddish amber with a small tannish head. Aroma is Belgian candi sugar, malts, dark fruits. Flavor is the same, but I expect a little more punch from a beer that claims to be a Quad. It was almost watery compared to some others I ’ve had. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad beer, it’s complex, and has a lot going on; but maybe it just needs more time or balance. I’m not quite sure - just a little lacking somewhere. swoopjones (1896), Buffalo, New York, USA

Sweet malt aroma, candi sugar, caramel & molasses. Warm alcohol burn from the start that is met with some malt sweetness. Slight cherries & cream taste. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2008 Brown pour with reddish hues. Tan head and decent lace. Cotton candy aroma, which for me is the highlight of this beer. A little over carbonated with flavors of yeast, candy sugar, spice, and caramel malt. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2008 This clear reddish-orange beer ooured with a thin beige head and a candy sugar aroma. The candy is also a prominent part of the flavor, along with a lot of spice and carbonation. The finish is actually quite bitter in contrast to the initial flavor. This is a very complex brew, but the flavor elements don’t blend well enough to bring this beer up to the level of the good Belgian quadrupels. Rciesla (3565), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Still a strong nose of etoh and caramel malt. There are good fruit flavors to be tasted here as well and decent spicyness. I shared this bottle and the sample i got i really enjoyed.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2008 Bottle 1 pint. Bought Bjergtrolden Roskilde. Colour unclear, unfiltered light brown with small beige head. Aroma very fruity - plums, raisins, abricots. Taste sweet and spicy. The promised fruits from the aroma are mixed with an interesting wood flavour. This would be an almost perfect Easter brew - wood, wine and bread - all in one!
