Commercial Description:
The Reverend, was created in tribute to the life of Sales Mgr. Tom Boogaard's grandfather, an ordained Episcopal Reverend. Tom was inspired by the life of his grandfather and wanted to create a tribute beer that contained his sterling traits. True to both our "small brewery, BIG BEERS" philosophy and to the spirit and character of the departed Reverend, this beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into our mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth considering the high alcohol content. Cellarable for 4 years.

talk about bang for your buck. 4 dollar quad. pours a rich mahogney color with a small acidic head. Smells of fruits. Tastes like a dubbel with carmel notes .Cherries are presant too. Surprisgnly good, and refreshing as the alcohol is hidden.

650ml bomber, shared with VeloVampire - pours a clear but slightly hazy ruby shade with a small white head. Aroma is very fruity, with a lot of caramel sweet malt, a quite a pronounced hop character. Very hoppy for a Quad. Flavour is very sweet, though balanced, full of Belgian candy sugar, dark fruit, toffee. The finish is mildly hoppy, mildly bitter. Almost has a barley wine character more than a Quad. Not nearly as yeasty as a Belgian Quad. Booziness becomes more apparent as the glass warms but is otherwise very well hidden. Unique.

Bomber->pint glass: Pours a dark orange body, topped by a foamy tan head. Aroma of fruits. Sweet taste, long duration. Very pleasing, but there is (for better or worse) the definite feeling that you’re drinking a high ABV beer.

Pours very dark orange/amber with a white head. The aroma is heavy with malts, molasses, and prunes. The beer starts off sweet with some bitterness - the malt profile is spicey, the yeast provide a nice fruit flavor (prunes, raisins), and there are hints of earthy hops. The beer finishes very full-bodied and quite fruity - hints of smoke. The alcohol is evident in the after-taste. The mouthfeel is thick and almost oily. Pretty tastey.

Bottle. Poured a coppery brown. Aroma was fruit, slightly sugary. Flavor was fruit, sugar, carmel, also a little piney, kinda like an IPA was hidden in there in the back. Nice beer.

Pours copper/amber with a thin white head. Fruity aroma but the taste not so much, which I liked, as I don’t care for oversweet beers, but it was still very full of taste. Potent, delicious. That’s what beer should be.

bottle poured into a pint glass amber in color , smell is of malt, fruit, sweetness, spice, and champagne yeast. taste is real nice, the yeast brings a nice dry champagne taste, dark fruits, sweet but not too much. has a nice dry taste and the alcohol was somewhat present but not overpowering. real solid beer overall but in my world could use a little more fruit.
