Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Dark brown small beige head. Completely off the style of being a weizenbock main flavors are chocolate , caramel and crystal malts. Some banana faint in the background along with a nutty toasted malt flavor but this was pretty much a dopplebock with weizen yeast, not bad but not a weizen bock either.

Bottle. Red/brown. Yeasty aroma, fruity with a hint of banana. Very soft mouthfeel, high carbonation, flavour is dominated by fruit, bread and caramel. Though this is a good beer, I still prefer the german versions.

Massive, massive, massive. Very good. Heavy notes of fruit which progresed through aging. Avery never ceases to impress.

The aroma has chocolate, toffee, dark fruit, caramel, toasted malt, and light hops. The appearance is dark red brown with a two finger head. The flavor is like the aroma but with a lot more hop bitterness than expected not to mention lots of alcohol and a metallic element. The palate is smooth. I was pretty disappointed by the flavor of this beer. The aftertaste is absolutely repulsive.

this was a really cool beer. a very dark malty weiss beer. Had a solid rich flavor. A little too much alcohol in the taste.

Dark cola color, fizzy light tan head Aroma is odd, but has brown sugared cherry pie. Slightly smokey malt in a light wheaty fruit body, cherries, brown sugar. Okay beer; a little forced.

Poured dark ruby/mahogany with a small fizzy light tan head. Strong aroma of raisins, brown sugar, caramel, european hops, and a bit of molasses. Flavor is strong and good, with notes of smokey molasses and dark fruits and a dry grassy bitterness. Finish is sort of off-putting, being a tad salty, ashen, and metallic. Alcohol is present but not overly so, adding a mild burn to the flavor and a warming sensation to the swallow. A nice weizen-doppelbock that could be even better without the metallic finish.
