Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent strongly carbonated dark caramel brown colored body. The aroma was malty sweet and mild wheat. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt sweet vinous and mild caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Big smooth banana bread, coco, pepper, and a spike of alcohol in the nose. Dark chestnut body with a persistant fine tan head. Uncooked banana bread, cream, pepper, dough, coco, malted milk, roasted malts, and a touch of alcoholic heat at the end. Mouthfeel is smooth with a touch of spiceyness running into a bready coco finish like a piece of banana bread dipped in porter.

Bottle. High creamy off-white lasting head. Clear very dark red almost black body. Aroma of sweet berries. Smooth and well rounded flavor of cocoa coffee and a touch of hops bitterness. not alcohol taste.

Clear, dark brown pour with a firm tan head. Aroma of toasted bread, wheat, and darker fruit. Taste is initially light, then grows stronger towards the back. Nice balance of yeast esters and the wheat up front that turns into a roasted malt and caramel sweetness. Almost schizophrenic in its taste. Very clean and very good.

Pours a dark mahogany with ruby hues and a large, frothy, nicely-lacing light tan head. Aroma has a good amount of sweet dark wheat and bready German yeasty notes with a touch of graininess and banana clove spice. Body starts sweet and viscous with nice authentic flavor and smooth malted wheatiness with a slightly drier, bready finish. Very true to style and enjoyable.

Blind rating, American Beer Tastings at Sk8viking´s. Pours a clear dark brown with a tanned foamy head. Smells of bourbon and smoke. Sweet and malty with heavy bourbon notes. Also some smoke and liquirish. Sticky mouthfeel. Medium to heavy bodied. Bourbony finish with a hint of tooth paste(?).

The aroma is a sort of rum-soaked raisin, plum, malt melange with hints of chocolate, spice and raisin liquor. The body is a dark mahogany with a firm and creamy, but thin tan head. Alcohol is the first thing you taste followed by cocoa, roasted malt, raisin and mild banana fosters notes. The finish is quite boozy and I’ve let this bottle sit a while. This is like the third time I’ve had this beer and I feel comfortable saying it’s a tad hot. Bearably hot, but less enjoyable for even so.
