Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

A two year old bottle I had lying around at work. A very brown colored beer with faint head. The wheat had faded a bit to the point I barely detected it in the aroma which at this point was predominantly spices and dark fruits and a decidedly more roasted malt character than I’d expect. A very similar body which held up surprisingly well given its age.

Bright burgundy. Deep fruitiness with whole grain breadcrust. Very alcoholic, with a rich soy sauce character and again a deep fruitiness. Woody, dense black forest cake. Almost Samiclausy with a fat, warming finish.

I would not have pegged this for a wheat bock- but oh well... pours a deep ruby red, with little head. Aroma of bananas from the yeast... also toasted malt. Full bodied beer, with a sweet malty flavor. Alcohol is in full force on this one. Very good beer, but I’m not sure if I’m a fan of high alcohol bocks yet. 9.5% might be a bit much... adds to much alcohol to the flavor and the residual sweetness is a little more than I expected.

Bottle. Very dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark fruit and spice. Both also in flavor along with roasted malt, chocolate and biscuit. Incredible mouthfeel; creamy and smooth with a wonderfully soft finish. Great, great beer. I only wish I had more. Much more.

Caramelly and chocolatey on the nose. Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Caramel and molasses dominate the flavor, its very smooth but i can taste the age in it.

Dark ruby with a firm off-white head. Complex aroma featuring figs and dates, licorice and molasses, and some bready munich maltiness. Sweet and fruity flavour, vineous and thick. Licorice and malt in a dry finish. The alcohol feeling falls somewhere between warming and burning. I suppose this is my first wheat wine
