lamas (584), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Jun 3, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Bottled in 2006. A muddy mahogany pour with a thick, creamy mocha head. Rich aroma of wheat bread, raisins, bananas, peanut butter cups and cinnamon. Thick, full body. Alcohol is noticeable throughout. Unfortunately, there is also a sour taste (normally associated with brown ales and those that try to include nutty flavors) that is also present throughout. Otherwise, this beer features plenty of dark, wheaty malts, caramel, cocoa, cinnamon and spices, raisins and bananas. A slightly dry finish. If it weren’t for the sour, nutty taste, this would be a fantastic beer.
fordest (1857), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Nov 18, 2008 22 oz bottle at a Nertz party. One of the favorites of the night. Sweet aromas with hints of banana. Dark fruit flavors with some spice and more banana. Very very good dkachur (1070), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 20, 2008 22 ounce bottle courtesy of mcbackus. Thanks! Reddish brown color with a minimal head. Very bready aroma with some banana notes. Taste is very similar with some caramel and nutty notes as well. Medium body. CaryTheDude (489), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Oct 15, 2008 Updated: Oct 24, 2008Crushed with Jakebra. Very interesting. Smells like a bourbon barrel. Flavor is sweet but finishes surprisingly hoppy. My first Weizen Bock, but I’m digging the style based on this one. jhagmar (110), Gothenburg, Sweden Sep 21, 2008 Bottle, thanks ekstedt. Dark brown to black with beige head. Raisins, burnt notes, malty, liquorice and anis seed to the nose. Sweetish, dull taste. ekstedt (2052), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 20, 2008 Bottle (bomber) from Ølbutikken. Dark copper, small head. Burnt sugar, some dark fruits, no wheat character whatsoever. Medium bodied and smooth, quite sweet. Had it next to Aventinus, which kicked as with this quite crappy brew.
