Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

clear brown, nice fine beige head, sweet rich chocolate and banana aroma sprinkled with pepper, creamy body, rich chocolate flavor with great banana character, hint of alcohol, nice sweetness blends well with the chocolate and banana

fine brown head swirls up nicely to leave a bit of lace that slides back down the glass and the head gets wispy, rich chocolate flavor with a nice peppery character, no change from the original thimble

Bright burgundy. Deep fruitiness with whole grain breadcrust. Very alcoholic, with a rich soy sauce character and again a deep fruitiness. Woody, dense black forest cake. Almost Samiclausy with a fat, warming finish.

Dark brown color; thin head, not persistent. The aroma is light, with caramel and very light roasted malt. The body strength is ok, with dominant caramel flavor, also malt, roasted malt, liquorice and a light sourish note, probably the wheat. Closer to a Barley Wine than anything else, but not impressive.

Brown with medium beige head. Sweet roasted malt in the nose that also holds notes of caramel, chocolate and alcohol. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, caramel, spices and chocolate.

(22oz bottle) Clear dark mahogany body topped by pillowy beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, raisin, caramel, alcohol astringency, light banana, cherry, chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin, some banana, astringent alcohol, light chocolate. Medium-full body, light creaminess. Alcohol astringency detracts significantly -- in fact, I couldn’t finish it.

Bottled. Very dark ruby color, good big foamy tan head. Light banana esters, licorice and alcohol in the nose. Lightly roasted, fruity (banana esters), some alcohol but suprisingly light for this ABV, tasty, easy to drink. Sweeter than German ones, maybe because of hopping?

LCRBM2. Very dark brown with good coffee/malt. Really quite lovely and drinkable. Strong though. Sherry. Alcohol and dry coffee malt. Got a bit much after a couple of sips though.

Its a red mahogany color and the head is huge, golden and creamy. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and a little fruit. The flavour is sweet, for a moment I find it very sweet, fruity, spicy and it has notes of roasted malt, licorice and the finish is long and lightly bitter. I kind of like this one, but then again it is a bit dominating in the overall impression and it should be more wheaty. 1722
