Jun 1, 2006 22oz bottle: Pours to a dark brown color, mostly clear when held to light, with a huge rocky tan head that lasts. The aroma is light chocolate, earthy wheat, light spicy yeast, mild lemon, cabbage, with some mild hops. The flavor is lightly bitter milk chocolate covered cabbage, vegitables, alcohol burn, lemon rind, grapefruit, and grains. Finishes with some bitter roasted malt, chocolate, and dry, bitter citrus hops. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, feels way too thin in the mouth, too cleanly filtered with too much alcohol showing. I’m trying to be sensitive to the higher alcohol and flavors, but the thin body and off-flavors just do not make for a good beer.

Dec 14, 2006 Deep, dark brown pour but surprising clear. Very thin head with decent lacing. Nose of toffee, coffee, caramel and prunes. Great flavors of roasted coffee, chocolate, toffee and some dark fruits. Full mouth feel with nice finish and aftertaste.

Mar 16, 2008 Overall a very good complex beer. It pours a dark brown with a miniscule off-white head. Aroma smells of chocolate, molasses, and dark fruit. The head quickly dissolves and there you have all of these flavors in a light, flavorful, porter-like beer. It finishes as it starts, but with a tang of bitterness. I would definitely drink it again, if I found it.

May 25, 2006 A dark amber and mahogany color with foamy topping of head. Aroma is light with a smell of fruit, toffee and malt. The drink is complex ranging in a wide variety of flavors such as rasin, fig, caramel, and toffee. Aftertaste is similar to a decaf coffee and very sweet residue on the lips. All in all a nice bomber but not a style im really into.

Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a beige/light brown head. Sweet, malty, dark fruit aroma. A bit cloying. Flavour is a delicate blend of sweet dark fruits, subdued hops and a remote roasted note. Liquorice finish with slight wine-like notes and a bit of alcohol thrown in. Lingering grassy/apple note. A nice beer, even if I found these types a bit on the heavy side. 18-10-09.

May 8, 2008 Opaque black pour with a quarter-inch beige head. Big, malty nose full of alcohol and sweet dark fruit. Flavor is much the same, dominated by chocolate, caramel, and alcohol. Man, this is rich. Nice warming brew with a pleasantly full mouthfeel This is wonderful.

Sep 25, 2006 Bottle from Uber Tavern. Cloudy dark red/light brown with decent head. Nice subtle sweetness with aroma of banana and a little yeast. Decent take on a Weizen Bock...but lots of room for improvement. Smooth and very drinkable with no dominating tastes...a bit too sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, wheat, chocolate and an alcohol bite are all subtle; almost seems a bit watered down.

Aug 26, 2006 A nice bock to be sure. The Thirteen pours a dark garnet color with a brown head that has decent retention. The aroma is very malty, brown sugar, and some alcohol. The flavors follow exaclty--caramel malt up front with a definite tinge of brown sugar. The alcohol feel in this one suprised me since it is only at 9.5--but nonetheless there is definitely some burn when you drink this one down.
