Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Light brown head. Sweetness, alcohol, caramel, fruits in the aroma. Flavour is full of caramel and liqourice. Sweet and fruity. Loads of alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Alcohol end with a medium bitterness.

Pours a deep brown with ruby highlights and a creamy light brown head. Minimal lacing. The aroma has sweet wheat, a light malt, bananas, and dried fruits. Tastes much the same with the addition of hot spices and a hit of alcohol. Dry, alcohol filled finish. Not bad, but missed my expectations.

Brown in color with a moderate light tan head. Fairly nice doppel aroma. A touch of alcohol distracts slightly. Lots of fruit in the nose with date, cherries, plums, bananas all in a light syrup with mace, pinch of cinnamon and brandy. Full feel, with enough zip to keep it light. Lacks some of the lighter wheat qualities of a weizen bock. Mild cocoa and dark syrup. Plenty of malt to back everything up in this one. Dry malt linger that I enjoy. Too many in this style get to thick and syrupy, but this one hits many points without getting thick and sickening. Solid effort.

Bottle@Home. Milky aroma with a hint of banana and lightly smoked, but also butterscotch and a hint of varnish. Dark brown color, beige head, fair lace. Light sweet, caramallized banana, licorice and chocolate. Soft and milky mouthfeel. Very nice, could use some complexity though.

Bottle compliments of harlequinn<!-- BR -->Dark auburn color, tan head, light lacing. Nose of vegetal roast, light alcohol. The flavor has a decent body but the malts and hops have no cohesion and it falls apart. Finishes malty, puckering, ugh. The alcohol doesn’t burn too much but I think it’s the root cause of this whole shebang not working out like it should have.

Bottle. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted caramel malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium blanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

Bottled - LCRBM2 - A dark brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet with lots of alcohol. Almost a brandy like touch to it. There are hops and smoke also. The taste is hoppy yet wheaty. Sweet caramel flavours and nuts. Very tasty, and a typically American take on a Weizen Bock.

Bottle. Pours a dark clear amber color with a fast disappearing off-white head. Sweet malty yeasty and slightly alcoholic aroma. Sweet malty yeasty caramel flavor with a sweet malty wheat finish.
