Huge banana up front, tone of roasted grain, caramel, residuel sugar, very faint alcohol. As it warms banana esters subside, and aroma is huge sweet malt. Flavor, again dominated by sweet malts. Caramel, brown sugar/mollasses, chocolate, roasted grain, prune, raisins. Man there is alot going on for sure. Some faint fruity esters come through in the middle, but hard to pinpoint. Aftertaste is very bready/doughy. Flavor is eerily similiar to an east coast brewers’ eisbock/winter wheat. Great thick oily mouthfeel. IMO a tad hot right now. Might impove with some time. Well done regardless. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA

Hints of banana, white wine, apple, toffee cloves and cocoa. Taste is dominated by the banana and toffee and has the other aspects hidden beneath. The palate has noticable alcohol but I like the way the toffee and banana combine together. Very impressive overall. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2006 This is a new style that I’ve recently discovered but not found many commercial versions of. Glad to see the folks at Avery take this one on. I had this with the Aventinus Eisbock and a Homebrewed version of a Weizen Bock so the tastes began to run together. I will definitely have to sit down with this one again. A very good beer and interesting style to try. oh6gdx (8917), Vasa, Finland

Flavour is malty, alcoholic and bananas. Some roast and smoke also. Lovely balanced. Pleasantly done and a great session beer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2006 22oz bottle pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a tall tan head that stayed pretty well and laced the sides of the weizen in sheets. Aromas of caramel and roasted malts with a hint of bannana, and clove. Flavor is yeasty with lots of caramel there too and a touch of chocolate and big bannana notes with some clove and a touch of bubblegum flavor too. Full bodied and robust but it does have a nice soft mouthfeel. I found none of the alcohol in this and found it very pleasant to drink. This is a style that I wish more would try. And to top it off mine was priced at $3.99.. I think they priced the first batch wrong.. I found this one fantastic! Good stuff.. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Creamy and chocolatey. Banana and clove. Really no alcohol flavor for me. Smooth and rich. Not really thick, but full. Some plum. Bitter finish. Even a little hops. The more I drink the more I discover. Brown sugar and molasses arise when it warms. Raisins come out too. Complexity is much better than I first found. A very nice offering from Avery.
