Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Bottle. Dark brown body, tan foamy head. Brown sugar, fruity caramel, bubblegum sweetness and alcohol in the aroma. Very fruity flavor - apple/strawberry along with citric acid over sweet caramelly malt. Good mouthfeel. I like the combination of fruit and sweet malt on this guy.

Courtesy of Stevo at Stevofest. Clear brownish red or mahogany. with a nice beige head. Fruity- apples, I think - and rum, plus a little cherry in the aroma. Flavor is rye-ish, plus some fruit and some subtle chocolate, as well.

Very dark brown body with some ruby highlights at the edge. The head is yellowish khaki. The aroma is chocolate covered cherries with some cough syrup. There is some honey character. The taste is milk chocolate with some light prunes in the background. There is some noticeable alcohol in the cough syrup finish. Something I expect from Avery. Man, this is a biig beer that slaps you in the face.

Courtesy of crilg. Clear bronze body and a clingy, buffy tan head. Aroma of black pepper, clove, faint rubber, toffee, rum raisin, vanilla, and sweet malt. Flavor is initially medium sweet with rum and black cherry characters. Sweetness builds and becomes a little cloying. Decent beer, definitely worth revisiting in a few months.

Long lasting head. Rings of foam lacing left around the glass. Very dark brown lets very little direct light through. Strong malt aroma with some yeast. As it warms some intriguing brown sugar scents come through. Thick malty body. Sweet malty flavour. Some yeast and alcohol notes. Thick combination of flavours: chocolate, licorice, toffee and brown sugar.

Good sized dense head of fine off-white bubbles. Reduces slowly. Minimal carbonation. Roasty aroma with a bit of chocolate and dark fruit. Color is a very dark ruby brown. Fruity and malty. Some prunes and dates along with a big helping of roasted malts and a touch of coffee at the finish. Some spices present. Noticable alcohol warming. Pretty sweet and a little unsettling. A little bitterness at the finish and a lingering smoky aftertaste. Decent but is not sitting well in the stomach.
