| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2006 Good sized dense head of fine off-white bubbles. Reduces slowly. Minimal carbonation. Roasty aroma with a bit of chocolate and dark fruit. Color is a very dark ruby brown. Fruity and malty. Some prunes and dates along with a big helping of roasted malts and a touch of coffee at the finish. Some spices present. Noticable alcohol warming. Pretty sweet and a little unsettling. A little bitterness at the finish and a lingering smoky aftertaste. Decent but is not sitting well in the stomach.
