Commercial Description:
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

My Bottom Line:
Candied dark fruit and clovey spiciness smoothe into a hefty body made for sipping. This Americanized Weizen Bock will surely please malt lovers looking for intimacy.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam shields the darkened burgundy.
-Effervescence is rather soft for the style.
-Alcohol is very well-hidden.
-Some roastiness appears, as supporting herbal hops attempt to dry out the finish, which remains mostly sweet.

Bottle; no date.

Dark pour that is not quite black, with a thick cream colored head. Berries and chocolate nose with a bit of dust. Tangy oatmeal, caramel, chocolate milk mix, nutmeg, a bit of banana flavor. Finish is dry with a noticeable alcohol bite., oh yeah, 9.5% that explains that I guess. Port like flavors. Not a bad beer. Ap-4 ar-7 tas-7 pal-3 ov-14

22 oz. bottle from Beverage House (Tucson) - Pours a brown color with a two finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is full of esters. Flavor is lightly spiced and fruity. Also some dry caramel malt flavor comes through. Medium body and slightly bitter. A good beer.

Pour of deep dark mahogany, rimmed with white. Aroma is a subdued almond fruits, with some sweet rustic edges. Flavor is a wash of warming dryed out malt character, with some hints of hazlenut, pecan and caramel. Toasty and full of date sweetness. Alcohol plays low. Lacks a run of balance in the back. I thought that a wheaty character should have been more pronounced, instead it seemed absent, especially in an sort of texture or tooth. Fruityness, downplayed in my mind as well.

Bomber: Aroma permeates with dark fruit, a nice spicy caramel malt overtone, toffee, licorice, a slight scent of chocolate, and a bit of alcohol. Appearance is a deep ruby color with a medium sized tan head that diminishes into a film. Taste is got a really nice malt characteristic, wheat, and on the backend the spices come through. Palate is lightly sweet on the lips, somewhat tongue coating, and aftertaste has a lingering fruity malt characteristic. Overall, an enjoyable beer to say the least. Nice aroma, looks inviting, and a nicely complex taste. Cheers!

Pours a dark amber brown with very light to no head. Smell is pretty unique, definitely can tell this is a mix of styles. Some wheat, dark malts, banana, and dark fruit. Taste is more dopplebock than wheat but a nice version of one. Very malty with a hint of caramel. Even get a little light chocolate in the aftertaste. Relatively smooth. Pretty good.

Pours a brownish red with a small tan head. The aroma is malty with whiffs of banana and alcohol. The flavor has primarily a roasted quality with some hints at banana and dark fruit.
