Super carbonated body assertive but a touch thin. Super complex mix of flavors dominated by a tart fruit mix of chery, pear skins, earthy under tones, something oddly spiced in the finish I never could place.. a very well blended blend. Aromsa is lightly alcoholic a bit of a blankety funk, lots of sweet fruits, reminded me of a jolly rancehr and some light spice.

This sour ale pours a medium brown color form the tap. Medium to full white sized foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, tart and funk. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity and tart, sour and funky. Nice balance. Touch of wood. Very smooth tasting for all that is going on here. Nice blend of beer and barrels. Some funk, some fruit and some wood. Is this really the last barrel of this beer in existence? If so, it may be time to mix up a new batch. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Wow, I feel special now. This was supposedly the last keg ever in existence. So if I were an 8-year-old version of myself, I’d be saying "neener neener" or something like that. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is red wine, wood, red berries, and bretty funk. Very nice. Flavor is very vinous, along with cherry and raspberry notes, port, oak barrels, brett, and some lactic sourness. Palate is mildly acidic with medium body and low carbonation, very wine-like really. Best beer I’ve ever had...that’s named after a cartoon character...maybe. SamGamgee (1469), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Draught at the Bistro Barrel Aged festival 09. Last keg in existence? With a description like that, I had to give this one a shot. Brown pour with a small head. Sweet malty and funky aroma with plenty of brett character, wine, and oak. The flavor is a bit hot with alcohol and has a nice clean sourness. Brett is also apparent, and adds a rather modest leathery twang. Malty, but also dried out by the wild stuff. Good flavors overall, but I think this just dried out a bit too much to the point where the alcohol got to be a little too present. I could see myself really liking this a lot if it were of more modest strength. kmweaver (2493), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Draft @ Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. Pours a murky brown color; light tan head with good retention and mixed-bubbled lacing. Pleasant amounts of tart red fruits, raspberries, citrus; nicely complex sourness in the nose; quite nice. Medium mouthfeel: lots of complex light tartness, ripe red fruits (strawberries, cherries) with some bandaid notes, citrus, and overripe notes as well; low tartness, but not flabby, solid, and better than the Platypus. Medium finish: red fruits, toastiness, no alcohol. Decent. bhensonb (4376), Woodland, California, USA

Medium body and mild carbonation. Flavor is funky, and mixed dark flavors. Finishes very tasty. marcus (1902), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2009 On tap at Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Poured dark brown with a thin beige head and a sour malt aroma. The flavor is also a bit sour, but not as much as I expected based on the blended elements. The brett was noticeable, but not overwhelming, and there were notes of prune and treacle and a winey sensation.
