Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Poured a pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma was lemon, yeast and wheat. Taste was nice wheat character, yeast, a touch of lemon with a very nice dry finish. This beer seems like it could be paired well with a lot of different foods. Not overpowering, balanced, and well done. I wasn’t expecting much, but I think this might be a bit under rated.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, light gold body with a small white head. Smell: Aroma of honey and tangy-scented wheat malt with a full spiciness and notes of juicy orange peels. Taste: Tangy, lightly sweet wheat malt followed by a brazen dose of coriander and orange peel (like taking a teensy weensy sip of triple sec). Touch of honey. Distinct pear fruitiness Spicy hops with a light bitterness. Pinch of coarse black pepper near the end. Orangey, spicy finish with a faint lingering sweetness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: Tasty, but the additional spices are just a wee bit overbearing for me.

Clear golden yellow with a nice few fingers of puffy white head that hangs around nicely. Aroma is mostly spicy coriander. Taste is sadly a little bland. Some citrus but sort of watery, not that smooth wit taste in the body. Clean drinking, smooth, just bland.

Pours a pale yellow--nearly the color of a standard post-it (yes I am at my desk). Nice creamy 2" head and light lacing. Smells of bananas and bread--but not banana bread. Light and fruity, pretty balanced, it danced across my tongue on a 100F day. Refreshing, but a bit much. Like skinny dipping in January, it’s something you wanna try once for the experience but you don’t want to make it a habit.

A good day is a day when I can rate a beer by Avery. The label is decorated with a cartoon of a scrawny, pale, alcoholic demon - and I thought it was called White Rascal, not White Devil. The aroma - ah - rich and floral - that unique scent one finds only in a fine beer. The taste is also very fine - fairly malty and hoppy for a wit, with citrus and coriander taking a back seat. There is a touch of perfumed, candied curacao oranges, and a little yeasty bite. It could use a little more sugar and spice in my opinion, but all things considered, this is a very nice Yankee witbier.

12oz bottle, moderate collapsing head, sticks to glass. Pronounced coriander aroma, some citric acid. Flavor is heavy coriander, orange follows through, fairly sweet, soft mouthfeel, ends watery, somewhat dry but the sweetness is still trying to stick around. Decent beer, wouldn’t be mistaken for real belgian though. Could use some acidity.

Bottle-Poured a cloudy yellow color. The aroma was yeasty with slight spice or citrus flavoring. A bit of a weak taste of wheat and citrus. Produce place 1.49

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a cloudy white-yellow with a small head. Nice yeast aroma with hints of stone fruits and caramel. Taste is wheat, banana esters, bubblegum, yeast, spice. Very light texture and taste. Pleasant.
