Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Draft at Down Town Johnny Brown’s. Expected wit appearance. Cirtrus and some spice on the aromas. More so on the flavor. Pretty good, refreshing, less of the wheat twang I dislike in this style.

12oz - Aroma is bready yeast, coriander and lemon. Pours pale yellow with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor matches aroma focusing on the yeast which is pretty bland. Palate is kinda sticky. Pretty boring white.

Bottle. Pours cloudy lemonade, white head. Aroma is yeast, banana, clove, coriander, sausage, nutmeg. Flavor is banana, bubble gum, clove, wheat, yeast, a little on the watery side.

bottle from Top Shelf Liquors, Valrico - yellow and small head, yeast, coriander, fermented orange peel - a little dry - had better whites but not bad

Poured a dull, hazy gold color with a one-finger tall white head that subsided slowly and left average lacing. The aroma was spicy and bready with a bit of citrus. The flavor was a decent mix of citrus, spice and some wheat. Nice dry finish, didn’t linger.

Bottle. Hmmm, this seems to be divisive. Sweet lemon and orange aroma with half its potency derived from coriander. Hazy lemon-yellow body with a short white head. Taste is rather spicy! Ctirus, coriander, lots of orange peel, heavy yeast, and bready biscuity wheat malt in a medium-high dose. Medium-full body, very dry...tart with occasional/lesser sweet and bitter notes. Dry white (perhaps witty?) aftertaste. Extremely refreshing, probably the most exciting wit I’ve had in the States.

Very weak Belgian-style ale...maybe I’m spoiled by all the more flavorful and powerful varieties available now. This would be a Belgian for beginners (really more of a wheat though).

Enjoyed this several times with dinner on the patio at Midnight Blue in Orlando, FL. Just like a lighter, crisper version of Hoegaarden....which are welcome improvements in my opinion. Plenty of coriander and orange peel, but the coriander does not overpower like it does in Hoegaarden. Excellent on a hot summer day. Just think Hoegaarden Light.
