badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Dec 10, 2006 Hazy yellow color with no head. A moderate corriander aroma with some wheat. Lot’s of wheat and an orangy finish. Fairly light body. Corriander fades in the taste. Not bad. Thankfully not a corriander smoothy like so many Wits turn into. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Dec 5, 2006 Fairly bland white beer for my tasting. Was a very opaque gold. Not much going on. Spice level was low or nonexistent. Still enjoyable to drink, but not great. Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2006 Ah the color of a lemon meringue pie..very pretty beer...yeasty and fresh citrus nose...very apparent coriander(if i diddnt know this spice was involved i would have just said apparent spice)...anyway its very easy to drink...nice little ending bite of citrus fruit rinds..not my favorite wheat, a bit un-balanced in the spice versus fruit ratio...but its good..and it actually starts to taste better as it gets warmer beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Nov 30, 2006 12 oz Bottle. Poured a light golden color w/a large foamy white head. Grassy aroma. Definite wheat/grain flavor w/some sweetness & spice, orange & cloves, & fresh dough flavor. Light easy drinking beer that has a little more flavor than many other samples of this style, a little more umph! Thick mouthfeel w/ a long finish. Sombeast (151), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2006 Sour, yeasty aroma and flavor Beautiful cloudy pale pale golden appearance with a nice head. I’m not picking up the spice level.. Full mouthfeel. Refreshing and drinkable but not my favorite example of this style. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 21, 2006 Bottle; Nose is yeasty and spicy. Lightly hazy gold with a good, glass-lacing white head; Flavor is spicy wheat that tingles your tongue, in the medium body, and the finish is tart. BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 20, 2006 Updated: Aug 21, 20071st rating (bottle) Sparkly yellow champagne appearance. Highly carbonated though the head evaporates quickly. Piquant yeasty aroma with a prickly pleasant mouthfeel, but flavor underdelivers. Light-medium bodied with prickly peripheral yeastiness and a mild sour finish.
2nd rating (tap). What a difference on tap makes! My final rating will be an average of both ratings as there was such a profound difference between tap and bottled versions. The tap version champagne white/blonde, with piquant coriander, zesty citrus, almost lemony, yeast springing into the nose. Piquant, smooth, and relatively light bodied, but flavorful and giving the impression of a higher ABV than you would expect. Perfect on the palate and an American Style Belgian Witt that would be hard to top in the states. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Nov 18, 2006 Pours cloudy white with a small white head that quickly dissapates. Aroma is mostly wheat with some corriander spice. Flavor is light, even for a witte, but pleasant. Corriander and some orange are present along with bread like wheat flavors. Finish is yeasty, but enjoyable. A good light drinking beer.
