DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Aug 18, 2006 Hazy yellow, medium white head settling to a fine white ring that lasted to the bottom of the glass. LIght citrus and grassy aroma. Nice medium body with a fine, light carbonation. Some toffee sweetness is balnced by some spicy bitterness, leaving the finish dry, but short. I thought this was a pretty good Witbier. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 14, 2006 Bottle @ Wit’s End in San Diego, 8/10/06. Pours with a similar look of a light lager, yellowy, with a fizzy head. Looks howeving can be decieving, this is a nice light and sweet belgian styled wheat. WhiteSoxFan (152), USA Aug 9, 2006 12 oz. bottle from Morgan’s. Bottle conditioned. Drank on 7/24/06. Nice looking wit. Cloudy, nice yellow, lemony color. 1+cm. creamy white head. Drops to a nice layer of foam. Nice lacing. Aroma - banana, cloves, and spice. Belgian yeast and I get a hint of the corriander and orange. Fairly strong. Flavor - Decent level of bitterness on the tongue. Smooth, light cold and refreshing in the middle. Banana, clove, orange, and spice flavors come out in the swallow and in the end. They are pretty light though, not overbearing at all. Palate - nice and light, refreshing. Higher than avg. carb. Overall - good. Not my favorite style, but this one is good. Nice and light, and the spice isn’t overdone at all. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Aug 10, 2006on draft at Mellow Mushroom in Winston Salem - cool hazy lemon-lime color, almost looks neon. little to no head. high carbonation. grass, lemon, grapefruit, light citrus hops. finishes slightly sweet and full of florals. served w/ an orange. delicious! SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Aug 6, 2006 In the bottle. Cloudy pale yellow with a medium white head. Has the aroma of pepper and coriander. Foam rings encircle the glass. Lemon and pepper flavors immediately register on the tongue, but the palate is a bit chalky. Wheat flavor is strong in this with little balancing sweetness. Lemon is the big deal here as it is tongue tingly and pronounced throughout. EValP (30), Colorado, USA Aug 4, 2006 First thing I noticed was a surprisingly strong aroma of spicy citrus. Pours to a golden orange look with a small head and a bit of lacing. Lacks in overall flavor to me but possesses an aroma with yeast, orange, and a medicine flavor. Not horrible for a witbier but Avery has done better. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jul 30, 2006 The first half was a clear light gold pour the second half hazed gold. An aroma of clove and fruit. A flavor the same as the aroma. A really nice light crisp drinker at 5.5%. A slight after taste that might really eat at me if I drank too many. stubby (325), Santee, California, USA Jul 28, 2006 A semi-boring Belgian white. Why is it that American brewers can’t quite get the esters and phenols of Belgian beers? This is well-brewed, with the heart in the right place, just light and boring. I did not detect the spicing like other raters.
