LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2006 appearance is cloudy opaque lemon color, almost like homemade lemonade. aroma is very witbier-like with the yeast and the corriander and the lemon and some of the orange zest. maybe a touch of clove but nothing to shake a stick at. flavor is very lemony. almost actually like the lemon sauce from chinese lemon chicken. other flavors include some corriander, some wheat, some yeast. nothing too much more, the lemon overpowers. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 15, 2006 12OZ BOTTLE. Aroma of coriander, zest, and belgian yeast. light yellow in color. bubbly, white. In a blind test, it is truely a white ale. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 15, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a very hazy, pale golden with a small, creamy, white head. Spicy, somewhat gingery nose. Very light-bodied, citrusy notes and a lightly medicinal, herbal edge. No real bitterness, but very fresh and quenching. 110606 joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 13, 2006 Bottle.
Hazy yellow coloured with a white head.
Aroma of fruits, citrus and spices with notes of rubber.
Flavour of fruits, citrus and spices. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2006 12oz. Bottle: Smells of corriander and spices. Aroma of a spiced cookie. Poured light yellow. Sparkling. Hazy and opaque. Nice big, white, frothy, foamy head lasted. Flavor is medium bitter. Flavors of corriander, wheat, and yeast. Light body. A little thin. Lively carbonation. Dry, slightly sweet finish of average duration. Crisp. Overall, an ok Witbier. radagast83 (1272), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 10, 2006 Beer #300 for me. 12 oz bottle. Very cloudy light orange color. Yeasty, fruity with some malt flavor behind it. MrEcted1 (144), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Jun 1, 2006 Cloudy yellow color with a decent head that is good enough to stick around. Slightly above average when compared to most other Americanized Belgian Whites, but far from being authentic tasting. Very smooth, easy drinkin’ brew with banana and light citrus flavors, the esters are not too forward in this beer, but are present enough to give it that nice fruity Witbier taste. Overall a good drinkin’ brew that is very accessible to most. I recommend trying this one. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada May 27, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Hazy pale yellow with a large creamy-foamy lasting white head. Pretty typical aroma for the style - sharply yeasty/peppery/spicy hit, estery fruit, sweet malt backing. Taste is like yeast, candy, cinnamon and lemon juice - well done, quite quenching. Mouthfeel is a little thick and syrupy, sharply carbonated, very sweet and spicy - solid version, maybe not as soft, balanced or sophisticated as a good Belgian one, but I’m happy with it.
