Cloudy dark straw body with a thin white film of head that settles to the most minimal of lacing. Slight funk and plenty of sugar in the nose; there’s some definite yeasty tang in the attack and all the way through to the finish but it’s not sour or sharp. Tingly carb. Borderline sweet and fizzy but it stays just on the drinkable side. Not one to inspire a lot of high-volume consumption, but it’s a solid little beer that’s somewhere in the zip code of the style. Quaffable. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2006 Hazy bright blonde color with thin white head. Typical Belgium aroma of sweet fruit, spice and yeast. Nice flavor initially. The wheat hits first then it rolls into a sour and bitter flavor. The sour and bitterness fade as the beer is further consumed. Fresh tasting and refreshing hot summer day beer. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2003 This was a great example of a witbier. Although at times, it came across as having more of a light german hefe, but very nicely balanced and very easy to drink. Very lightly golden in color, with a small egg white head. A must try. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Cloudy Yellow, Big sloppy white head. Toasty citrus aroma. Full, fluffy mouthfeel. Spicy, orange and lemon flavors first, then a peppery finish. More of a session Witbier than a special-event Witbier, but nice nonetheless. riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 29, 2007 The standard belgian wit aroma. Corriander spice, orange, etc. Yellowish and unfiltered. Flavor is orange, corriander, and wheat. Pretty standard here. A hundred times better than Sam White. Not my favorite style so I probably will not purchase again. We’ll see. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2003 The yeast pour gave this a lovely cloudy, luminescent yellow appearance. This seemed to me a "big" wit, with a deep aroma of coriander and clove, very fresh-smelling and somewhat sweet. The flavor was good, too, though I thought the spicing overwhelmed the subtler elements a bit. Banana, clove, orange, bubblegum, perfume, and wheat. The palate was somewhat aggressive at the start, then a bit limp as it warmed--I didn't find the right balance. That characteristically Saaz finish, slightly bitter plastic, like sucking on a Band-Aid, turned me off. But on the whole, I thought this was fun, if not incredible. Lightly hazy gold with a good, glass-lacing white head; Flavor is spicy wheat that tingles your tongue, in the medium body, and the finish is tart. michael-pollack (2686), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
