Nose smells like suntan lotion and bannana. Let me set the record straight-I do not like Witbier. Now, having said that, this isn’t too bad for what it is. The taste is very mild and almost a little smokey. Flavors of wheat, bannana, smoke, and sausage (yup, that’s right, sausage) are there. The finish is very clean mild. Overall, it’s okay, but I would not drink it again by choice. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 7, 2006 Pours a cloudy yellow color. Aromas of orange and spice. Flavor has too much orange, I didn’t care for this beer much. White beers aren’t high on my list. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Draft at Flying Saucer Nashville. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a white head, typical wit appearance. Aroma of wheat malt and orange peel. A hair above light bodied, but with some watery texture. Flavor of light wheat malt, orange peel, and coriander with an average amount of residual sweetness. Finish is clean and slightly yeasty. Not bad, but needs a little more malt backbone. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Pours hazy pale yellow into a tumbler. White head recedes to coat surface. Banana and clove aromas. Marshmallow upfront turning to a crisp cloved wheat finish. tjthresh (1774), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Hazy yellow straw with a fizzy but lasting pure white head. Coriander, and orange peel are easy to pick out in the aroma. The flavor is citric and spicy with a metallic tough as Philly pointed out. Very fizzy mouthfeel. Not something I can see buying again, but if offered I’ll sure take it. Palidor19 (1773), Brandon, Florida, USA

Good malt yet very little hop flavor. The citrus that empowers most Witbier is a minor presence in this one. Light spices though. Still a very drinkable beer in its own right
it reminds more like Blue Moon than to Hoegarrden. JCB (1768), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 12, 2008 12oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. It’s really hard to make a wit that can keep my attention and be much more than a simple quaffer to me. Avery’s version is about as competent as many other renditions on the market; and it’s also thereby about as memorable, which is to say not very much. Cloudy gold/orange pour with a decent amount of carbonation in the medium body. The usual suspects in the nose, of course - orange peel, etc. A bit of a watery finish, unfortunately. Decent.
