| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2003 Usualy wit appearance, murky light yellow with a decent white head. Aroma is spicey, definitly coriander and orange and lemon peel, quite nice, but the flavor is not that enjoyable. Bland, stale, and unpleasently sour, there really is a lot missing from this one. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2006 It’s got the classic wit look, hazy pale straw with a thick head. The aroma’s a bit lemony, somewhat blocking the wheat and coriander. Nice lively mouthfeel. The spicing comes through more in the flavor, coriander and zest of orange with light peppers and a touch of banana. Quite a dry finish. Refreshing.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2003 Chalky dark straw color with a smallish white lid of bubbles. Orange rind and coriander aromas. Initial sweetness nearly immediately taken back by the strong spice and citrus. While I like the spice its nearly too sharp in this one. The malt does not come back to rescue the palate and you're left with the aftertaste of a spice cookie rather than a beer on your mind. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Nose of musky wheat, lemony citrus & ripe bananas & kiwi. Taste yeast & mild with a bite of spice & coriander. Finishes smooth. Good! Tmoney99 (4802), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2004 Pours light straw colored, with decent head, and turbid (I checked the label, and it is indeed unfiltered). Nice aromas of orange, coriander, and slight yeast. Tastes very creamy, slightly dry, overtones of hops, citrus, banana, and yeast. Finishes smooth, dry, with even more banana. Very complex, very good. Ernest (4515), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2003 Updated: Aug 26, 2003Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy light yellow, dense tiny particles, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of coriander, clove, and lemon/orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Adam has altered the recipe yet again for the latest batch...the major difference as far as I can tell is that the spices have been reduced slightly. There's a bit more malt sweetness now to help fend off the sour/bitter attack (though I still think a shade more is needed to further counteract the biting tongue-coating spice bitterness that is also common to winter holiday spice beers...the bitterness imparted by spices is apparently more difficult to balance than hops, as it's more persistent). My desire to continue drinking this still tends to wear out before the end of a 12oz bottle, mainly from that spice fatigue. The aroma is a bit better balanced now...the wheat is more noticeable. So, the tweaks helped a little...it's hard to tell this isn't made in Belgium, which I like. Still needs work in the mouthfeel department (rather thin and watery/wet, even considering the style), but that's a minor nit. If the malt was beefed up a bit more, the two main issues I have with this one would likely be solved at once. Overall, this is still kind of stark and pointy...fabulous wits are warm and rounded.
