Honey wheat, grassy hops, fresh bread, earthy yeast and sweet orange peel make up the fantastic nose. Softly carbed and full bodied is a good combo for the style. The coriander and wheat are in balance with the fruity esthers kicked up by the yeast, but unfortunately the body thins out into a watery finish. A bit more meat would be welcome. Good stuff anyways. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Tap @ Pizza Port SB. Poured a clear faint yellow with a fizzy white head. Not a good start. Pleasant wheat and spice aroma, sweeter than most. Taste was very light, even for the style. Tart wheat and orange peel dominate. Some spice, but nothing to really distinguish the beer. Dry, crisp finish. Refreshing but lacking. frylock (1026), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Hazy pale golden color. Doughy malt aroma with wheat and light citrus notes as well. Slightly sweet, with some corriander and light orange flavors. Crisp saaz hop finish. Not bad. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2004 This is a light-flowing, easy drinking, spicy and tasty white ale. Mild tangerine type aroma. Very cloudy, pale yellow in color. Spice in the flavor, very tingly with a zippy finish. Nice brew. Thanks to ecrvich for the sample. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2004 Thick white head and moderate lacing follow a proper pour. Light yeast and some citrus in the aroma -- they hit you in that order on the palate, too. The orange finish gives it some unexpected kick, which is nice. A witbier is not the same as a hefe, at all, and the differences can easily confuse the palate, but for a white, this is a full, spicy American take on the original. Good for Avery! malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 15, 2007 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Very pale cloudy yellow with nice white head. Mild aroma of orange and spice, coriander. Honey orange sweetness with very spicy finish and lingering, cloying spicy throat. Medium-light body and medium carbonation. Pretty good, but not a fave. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Pours a cloudy yellow-off-white with a thick frothing head. The aroma is all spices with a touch of lactic acid. Body is really lacking with none of the fullness that the originals of the style carry-out. The spicing is rather...well...over the top? Way too much of everything. Remember, if you can pick it out, your using too much. Refreshing and a descent beer but not a true to style wit.
