Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Tap. Light notes of hay, moderate aromas of lemon, herbs, musty and barnyard with hints of clove, white wine, and pineapple. Head is creamy, white, with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy pale yellow. Flavor is lightly sweet and acidic to start and finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. A Witbier with some nice complex aromas and light flavors to fit the style.

Pours a cloudy sunshine yellow with a white head that dissapates to a film. Aroma of corriander, orange zest and light pepper. The flavor is similar with some slight banana elements added to the orange zest/corriander combo. Spritzy and a bit creamy at times...a fairly light body overall, very drinkable. Overall not a bad little brew...a pretty good summer session.

Back to back with the Unibroue example, this is a bit better in my book. The aroma was much fruitier and very yeasty. Flavor of coriander and orange is well blended with the yeast character.

This beer pours a very light yellowy color with very little soapy head and no lacing, but given its clear nature you could tell it was very carbonated. The aroma was light and weak with hints of doughyness, bread, a hint of coriander, and some florals. The flavor is light bodied, heavily carbonated, prickly and watery. Some doughyness, a hint of pears and citrus...cardboardy dry finish. Not very good...not very bad... just very weak and boring. No truly defining qualities here aside from the cottonmouth finish.

very light blonde, a milky cadmium yellow, like a golden retriever or lemon cream; head forms a loyal protective white gauze in response to the percieved injury of the slightlest swirl. cloudy with just a very few bits of raw material within-- something resembling lemon pulp riding the spiral currents of tiny bubbles that flourish like the sparks from a windy brush fire. tasted side by side with the mighty bell's oberon: while the avery is more pallid (befitting a wit) beside the fiery yellow orange oberon, the avery soars higher in aroma with it's abundance of fruity embellishments: sandalwood, lemon, corriander orange with grassy malts; dry and creamy, with an unobtrusive body-- don't say 'thin', say 'demurely petite'-- and refreshing without being negligible or non-discript. it's summer, this is the drink to toast the lingering twilight, the drink to drown the heat and thirst, the breezy oasis amid the barren dunes.

bottle given to me by BeerGestapo. let me first say that this is probably the coolest art I have ever seen on a bottle of beer. it reminds me of the old DC/Vertigo comic "The Sandman".

pours a well carbonated lemon peel yellow with a super bright white head. lots of banana in the nose as well as some citrus and clove. bready flavor with some banana. very smooth palate. not bad.

Pours a really pale cloudy color with an ok lookin’ head to top it off. Spicy aroma, pretty citrusy. Kind of sweet, especially at the finish. Spices and some banana factor in as well.
