Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Cloudy pale yellow body with a bright white head. Typical coriander nose with some nice lemon citrus character. There is also some nice sweetness like lemon pudding. The taste had some bitter lemons and a little bit of orange peel. There is a little bit of coriander spice and a doughy soapy finish. Decent for the style with a thick body and high carbonation.

Aroma of clove, coriander and citrus? A clear, very pale, yellow color. The white head left quickly. Flavor goes quickly through clover, coriander and finally, I think, the orange appears, with yeast always somewhat present. Very nice. A bit less astringent than some Belgians of the style. Extremely pleasant. Given the moderate alcohol it could be consumed in relative quantity. Especially in summer around pool. Much more sensible choice than Corona.

Bottle: Clear yellow (kept the yeast in the bottom of the bottle)with a long lasting foamy white head and oustanding lace. The aroma has notes of coriander, clove, orange zest, wheat and grains, perfumy and dusty yeast esters. The taste starts fruity and spicy with a dash of bitters on top. Undertones of wheat and lemongrass on the finish. Lively feel and dry finish. Refreshing as the style should be, but it still lack the kick that the best in genre have. Quaffable Witbier and would drink it again.

Draught. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Hazy light green body. Powerful fruity aroma. Flavor of lemon banana. High carbonation and a long aftertaste.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear light blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film. Aroma of Belgian yeast funk, some light multi-grian malt and a touch of flowery hops. Taste is light bodied, well carbonated with a spicey wheat and yeasty beverage flavor. Finish is slightly spicey with a grassy/wheat aftertaste.

Bottle. Whitish-golden pour with a light layer of white head. Some sediment, and quite a bit of carbonation rising. Aroma of bananas and cloves, cellar mustiness, and a hint of orange. Wheat, citrus, and sweat were the bulk of the flavor, but there was quite a bit of sweetness in there that I didn’t much care for. Somewhat watery mouthfeel, but still had the wheaty, orangey, tingly feel that I like from the style.

Bottle (12oz). Hazy pale yellow with a large creamy-foamy lasting white head. Pretty typical aroma for the style - sharply yeasty/peppery/spicy hit, estery fruit, sweet malt backing. Taste is like yeast, candy, cinnamon and lemon juice - well done, quite quenching. Mouthfeel is a little thick and syrupy, sharply carbonated, very sweet and spicy - solid version, maybe not as soft, balanced or sophisticated as a good Belgian one, but I’m happy with it.
