Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Hazy yellow gold color. Small sized white colored foamy head. Aroma is citrusy and spicy, hints of orange, coriander and yeast. A medium bodied Belgian wit. Malts are fruity and sweet. Fairly spicy with orange peel, coriander and clove being predominate. Fine lively carbonation. Light and refreshing. It kind of bounces of the tongue. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry with a touch of alcohol bite. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Yet another winner from Avery.

(Rating #2408)

Beautiful pour when poured in a St. Bernardus glass. Hazy yellow with all of the good stuff this style makes (spice, citrus & yeast). Had it on draft and it's not so good.

Hazy lemon yellow small head. Aroma of wheat and spicy coriander. Clear notes of orange, balanced coriander, and a yeasty wheat finish. A very good, by the book white ale. Nice.

ery pale yellow color, yearning toward white, with a beautiful head, pure head, fresh and frothy head. The nose is everything I’d expect from a witbier, or any decent imitation, alert, spicy, citric, a touch dry, some lemon, a show of orange, and overall, inviting and appetizing. Taste: decent hops at first, nice wheat texture, very light in body, and extraordinarily drinkable. I could kill a ton of these in the summertime. (I can only admire that attribute now as the snow falls!) It’s lightness and smoothness is it’s perfection, a bit more lemon than orange in the flavor, very thirst-quenching and full of zing!

The White Rascal pours a hazy, very light yellow-white. It has a decent sized white head that has good retention and some lacing.

The aroma is musty and yeasty with some slight citrus notes (orange peel) and some spiciness.

The taste is yeasty and spicy (corriander) with more of the citrus (lemon and orange) coming out and some sweetish malts which helps balance it nicely. It’s a little on the thin side. It has a nice, crisp finish and is very easy-drinking.

Overall, a great summer brew.

Pale yellow to white with a thick white head, yeast sediment on the bottom. Wonderful wheat aroma with a faint citrus nose. Flavor is wheat, roasted malt and yeast. Palate is medium and fizzy.

12 oz bottle. Pours bright golden cloudy with a firm white head and lacing. Nice aroma as expected for a Belgian Wit, with coriander, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is excellent. Spicy, citrus, and wheat notes are well balanced in a light, refreshing brew. Tiniest bit of soapy character, as expected in the style. Starts out vaguely sweet from the malt and dries out on the finish. Good medium body for a wit. I like it. Not as good as Hoegaarden, but excellent.
