I like the look of this one, a very pale yellow, with a smallish head - but that pale cloudy color really defines witbier. Zesty flavor with lemon, coriander, and a metallic note that leads to a fairly hoppy finish. Lingering tartness that is surprisingly puckering. Somewhat of an airy texture, with no shortage of carbonation. Kinda nice. TheBeerGenius (153), Erie/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

There was hints of many different sweet tastes in this beer. It had a nice aftertaste tool. I would recommend this beer. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

Zesty Saaz aroma of mint, orange peel, plantain, white grape, and lemon. Underlying notes of dough, melon, clove, phenols, and dried pineapple. Lovely ester and hop combo. Beautifully creamy in the mouth. Gently assertive carbonation. Mint and herbal flavors are surrounded by a blend of orange peel, hop leaf, chalk, and mineral. Finishes roundly noble-ish with traces of pineapple, spruce, coriander, and a doughy pale malt backdrop. More malts to bounce off of the acidity and esters would have made a drastic improvement. Nevertheless, a well balanced witbier showcasing some lovely yeast characteristics and elegant hop flare. And, thankfully, the overdone spices have now melded quite nicely. A solid version. belgianhomebrew (646), Acworth, Georgia, USA

Modest head which fades slightly. Aroma is mostly orange and citrus, then bubblegum, then yeasty and has hints of wheat, clove and vanilla. Tastes slightly acidic and tart with yeasty flavors like bubblegum and clove. Finishes a little dry and only slightly bitter. Nuffield (2747), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2003 The yeast pour gave this a lovely cloudy, luminescent yellow appearance. This seemed to me a "big" wit, with a deep aroma of coriander and clove, very fresh-smelling and somewhat sweet. The flavor was good, too, though I thought the spicing overwhelmed the subtler elements a bit. Banana, clove, orange, bubblegum, perfume, and wheat. The palate was somewhat aggressive at the start, then a bit limp as it warmed--I didn't find the right balance. That characteristically Saaz finish, slightly bitter plastic, like sucking on a Band-Aid, turned me off. But on the whole, I thought this was fun, if not incredible. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA
