Commercial Description:
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Pours a cloudy amber, with little head. Seriously, I’ve never seen a beer that looked more like urine in my life. Light aroma, but of the traditional Wit style (coriander and orange citrus) and wheat. Flavor is the same, but a bit more prounounced. Seems like a bit of black pepper too, but I can’t find it with every sip. Palate is a bit too fizzy for my tastes, but admittedly smooths out as the temperature of the beer rises. Overall an okay Wit.

12 oz. bottle pours a cloudy light lemon yellow color with tight white head that leaves a delicate lacing when it dissipates, which it does rather quickly. Aroma is a yeasty citrus bouquet. Coriander is evident but not overpowering. Front palate is crisp with a bitter orange peel, middle is malty and finish has a buttery popcorn taste. Low hops taste. Easy to drink and nice in hot weather. Medium to light body makes it too easy to drink quickly, but it’s a tasty one. This would be a nice accompaniment to a spinach salad with bleu cheese and dried cranberries or apricots.

Pours clear and very pale with a thin, fizzy white head. Pleasantly pungent sour apple aromas with little to no hop bouquet. Really big, almost lambic tartness up front that fades a bit too quickly. The body needs a bit of a boost as well. Short, dry finish. While the claim is that this beer is unfiltered, its clarity and relative lack of body indicates something untoward is happening to the brew.

bottle. Very disappointing appearance- pours a pale yellow with little to no head... fizzy half inch bubbles up then clears super fast. Weak aromas of oranges, spices, and some yeasty twang. Flavors continue the disappointing trend... weak notes of spices and coriander, some sharp belgian yeast, and a middling grainy maltiness. Palate is average, though with the weak flavor the palate never really comes into play. Watery and thin. Overall pretty disappointing.

Bottle. Super pale in color. Aroma had occasional hints of yeasty goodness, some light spices, but esters were weak (some lemon), and in general the aroma was nothing special. Flavor improved the spice aspect of the brew and added a nice sweetness to the lemon characteristic. Refreshing, but still oddly thin in the mouth. A bit odd, but decent.

Bottle. Pours a surprisingly light yellow, cloudy, with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of spices (coriander, clove). Flavor initially of the same spices with a sweet, fruity finish. Slightly weaker palate than other witbiers, but this holds up pretty well. Not sure of the age of this bottle, as it had a lot of yeast caked at the bottom of it, but it seemed to taste fine, maybe just a tad stale. I wasn’t expecting much from this, so it held up well. A decent wit.
