Enjoyit (1697), Vadum, Denmark Jan 25, 2008 Amber of color with a light beige head. An aroma of malt, animal, hay, toffee notes. A flavor of nuts, toffee, caramel, notes of roasted malt and a bitter finish. ako (153), Turku, Finland Jan 20, 2008 Dark red, maybe even brown. Sweet aroma, some roastiness. Flavor is very malty, hints of dark fruit. Very, very smooth, easy to drink without being dull and uninteresting. One of the finer dunkels, and I’d expect nothing less from Aying. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Jan 10, 2008 (bottle): Pours a dark reddish brown color. Huge foamy, almost creamy off-white head. Good Lacing & somewhat lasting. Dark nutty, clovey aroma. Strong aroma of grape juice. Some smoke. Grape, nutty taste. Watery, wheaty & slightly dirty/dusty. Dark wheaty taste. Easy to drink. douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jan 9, 2008 500 ml. bottle. Pours a light brown/red with a strong white foamy head. The aroma is pretty light; some malts and a sweet brown sugar. The taste is really smooth and fairly light; mostly rich malts with some dark fruit, brown sugar and perhaps some coffee. Really easy to drink, but also really good. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Jan 9, 2008 One of the most perfect examples of a Dunkle you can find, this is how you brew a ’complex’ beer without resulting in a muddled mess. like the description brags, "malty taste with a hint of plum-fruitiness" delicious! Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 7, 2008 From a 500ml bottle--poured a rich chestnut amber-brown body with a fluffy beige-tan head. Robust, sweet, malty nose reminiscent of candy sugar and brown sugar. Roasted and toasty flavors almost smoky but more like dark chocolate. Very complex with different flavors coming to light with each taste. Nice brew! Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jan 5, 2008 16oz bottle-A dark amber light brown body with a nice tight off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and slight coffee. Taste of this medium bodied brew is of malt, chocolate, caramel, coffee, and finishes with more caramel and a mix of sweetness and dryness. An enjoyable dunkel. DrZao (96), Houston, Texas, USA Jan 4, 2008 Dark brown. Malty aroma with noticeable molasses. Flavor is quite malty...a bit too much for me, with the molasses still pretty strong. By the end, it was too sweet and syrupy. But I’ve been a little burnt out on malty dark beers lately, so I’m biased.
