Aroma of caramel malt, slightly roasty, and dark fruit. Delicious flavour of toasty caramel malt, dark fruit, and a lightly bitter, dry chocolaty finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. A very nice version of the style and one of the better ones I’ve tried, I really enjoyed it. stefanje (938), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2007 500ml bottle. Pours a translucent dark brown, with a fading off-white head.Aroma is light with caramel, anise, malts and coffee. Flavor mirrors the aroma with a bit of a sweet syrup thrown in. The mouthfeel was a bit thin and watery, and the carbonation was very light. Finish was dry, astringent and saccharine sweet. I would have rated this beer significantly higher had the palate not been so weak, and the finish so sweet. Bradrcr (779), Renton, Washington, USA

Overall, clean with a lot of complicated bready notes. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2007 500mL bottle. Pours a clear, cherry cola color; off-white head with decent lacing. Plenty of dried cherries and fresh malts in the aroma; syrupy and dense. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense dried fruits, caramel, and nougat; intense chewy maltiness that manages to (somehow) seem balanced and drinkable without any prominent show of bitterness; really tasty. Lengthy, chocolate and toasted malt finish, with the slightest show of citrus bitterness. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of toasted grain, roasted malts and sweet barley. Flavor was very refreshing with hazelnut, caramel, honey, and some dark fruits with a light bitterness finish. A very good dunkel.
