Mar 24, 2007 From a 500 ML bottle purchased at "Keller’s IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio - This one pours an aromatic, dark brown brew that smells of roasted malts and has a tan, thin head. Tastewise, this is a lovely dunkel, with just the right taste for the style for me!

Mar 21, 2007 Poured with a nice fine foamy head that slowly subsided to a thin cover and lace. Color is a deep, lovely, amber brown with highlights of brass. Milld chocolate malt roasty aroma. Flavor is very smooth with a hint of fruit, nice supple body. Very supple. This is a new bottle beer just arrived at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, WI USA

Mar 21, 2007 Updated: Feb 6, 2008[Rerate 2.6.08] Pours rootbeer colored with medium off-white sudsy head. Aroma slightly grassy and of roast malt. Flavor sweet malts & hops with mellow deep roasted flavor, sweet like a tootsie-roll. Palate is nice and pillowy, slightly syrupy.

Mar 20, 2007 500 ml bottle, via Saarlander. Pours a clear dark amber colored body under a generous two finger foamy beige head that left lots of heavy lacing. Aroma is very clean. Nutty malt with a slight grainy character. Notes of tobacco, coffee, and oily leather. Nose is slightly grainy toasted malt up front fading to a sweet malty finish with notes of leather, smoke, and toffee. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Finishes a little sticky with some risidual sugars. This was a really good Dunkel. Full of flavor and never thin or watery. Top rate stuff!

Mar 16, 2007 Dark brown color with malty sweet aroma. Flavor is good roasted malt with sweetish start and a lightly bitter dry finish. Slightly thin on the palate.

Mar 14, 2007 500 ml bottle. Nice clear dark-copper color with moderate foamy head. Very enjoyable dunkel. Like most of the Ayinger beers I’ve had, this one is well-balanced, with an instant attack, sharp brown ale-like taste, and clean, slightly lingering aftertaste.

Mar 13, 2007 Light roasted malts, toffee, and mild caramel nose. Flavors are similar to aroma and easy drinking. A tasty Alt, even though a bit watery.
