Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Bottle: Pours a clear brownish red with a huge sized off white head that lingers around for a while. Aroma is fruity with some definite malt characteristics, sugary, and somewhat nutty. Taste is clean but a little clotting, some caramel malts, a light acidic stinging, a dark fruitiness, and almost grainy. This beer ends with a lingering malt bitterness on the palate. Overall, A decent dunkel, definitely not the best I’ve ever had of the style.

This pours a nice deep nut brown with a small head. Very fragrant coffee aromas hit your nose as soon as you bring the glass to your face. Also a very strong smoky coffee flavor with a sweet taste of cherries and plums. Also hints of licorice and brown sugar. Different than a lot of beers i’ve had, but not bad at all. I got used to the strong flavors after a few sips and thoroughly enjoyed the rest.

bottle shared with brie... Pour is dark red with a small off white head that lightly clings to the glass. The flavor is all molasses and coffee. The carbonation and alcohol make the mouthfeel crisp, and the finish is all sweet malt. I loved this one. It is different than other dunkels that I have had. I will purchase this tasty beer again.

Dark reddish brown with a creamy head that diminshed quickly. Rich raisin bread and caramel aromas. Rough and biting entry with pronounced malt and a spicy hoppy finish.

500mL bottle. Heavy aroma of smoke. Smells of smoked salmon. Very dark reddish brown. almond colored head. Flavors of chocolate and mixed berries, with smoke. I really enjoy this brewery but... This beer is perfectly balanced and has of ton of layers. ONIONS HAVE LAYERS... Not very pleasant.

Haven’t had a bad brew from this brewery yet. I had this on tap and in the bottle. Frist one I had on tap was at Pike. Page 31 of MJ’s GBG. 199 of his 500 Classic Beers to go.

Bottle. Aroma-A fragrant breeze wafting over from Germany itself. Appearance-Warm and brown, with a two-finger head. Large bubbles that quickly fizzle out, like kids playing with soap in a Mr. Turtle Pool. Flavor- A delightful and pleasing blend of malt and hops, joyously dancing and as compatible as Bacall/Bogey. Palate-Smoothness like a cheerleader’s skin, with the chocolate whisper that shoots through at the sultry finish. Definitely a session beer or one to celebrate a victory with.

Bottle. Pours brownish burnt orange with tight beige head. The aroma is creamy with light chocolate, faint blackberry, some caramel, and a light grassiness. The flavor is sweet caramel up front, then hints of sweet chocolate and something vaguely reminiscent of heavy cream. The finish has a bourbon air about it with some dark-honey-like sweetness. Bread comes out once in a while throughout. The aftertaste is malty. The mouthfeel is a little thinner than I would like, but honestly not as thin as I was expecting.
