Dec 26, 2004 Updated: Aug 12, 2005 Dunkels aren’t really my style. Ayinger knows what they are doing so I had to try this. The taste was just too sweet. It tasted like malt and fruit and was not really my thing. If you like Dunkels go for it.

Dec 16, 2004 Aroma is of sweet malt and raisins. The flavor is to my taste buds muddled. The hops and malt flavors complement each other too perfectly for either to be well noticed. The Dunkel style is not one of my better liked ones, I thought I was buying a dark wheat, just preoccupied. Not one for the regular rotation.

Dec 10, 2004 Poured reddish-brown with an off-white head that left a thin lacing on the glass. Faint spicy aroma. Tasted rather thin, with some roasted malt. A rather unpleasant soy sauce character is evident. One of the poorest selections I’ve had from Ayinger.

Nov 27, 2004 Fizzy and mellow. That about sums it up for me. It sizzles on the tongue, but the flavor is mellow to the point where nothing really stands out. Good enough, but for the price there are many better.

Nov 21, 2004 from the bottle. poured a nice mahogany with a noce fluffy light tan head. aroma, roasted nuts, caramel, honey, toffee, raisins, and a hint of hops.flavor,malts,honey, dark fruits, plums, nutty, a nice smooth mouthfeel. enjoyed this beer will buy more

Nov 20, 2004 Very nice deep amber/light brown color and a kick ass off white head which lasts throughout hte beer. Great smooth nutty and toasted aromas with lots of malt and jsut a touch of hops. Flavoris nutty, doughy, bready and malty- crystal, brown and chocolate malts. Very smooth mouthfeel and finish. Very quafable.

Nov 19, 2004 Updated: Mar 25, 2005Pours a very dark brown with a few red highlights. A large off-whte head tops this. The aroma is cooked carrots with some bread crust. Also has a touch of chocolate and raisins. The flavor is a nice fruity mix of raisins and some light chocolate. It also has a touch of carrots. A fairly light mouthfeel. Another solid entry from Ayinger.
