lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 9, 2009 Clear red-brown body with a finger of creamy off white head. Light burnt caramel, a bit of fruitiness in the aroma. The taste is similar with big scorched sugar up front, sweet with a nice fruity finish. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Mar 4, 2009 Bottle from BevMo. A nice dunkel, not that I’ve really had enough dunkels to know what a good one is. Copper color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty aroma. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, and sweet plum at the finish. Nice smooth mouthfeel with a medium body. mbgrayson (141), Anaconda, Montana, USA Feb 28, 2009 Pours a dark reddish brown. Very smooth, with some roasted malt flavor. A very nice, rich beer. Thumbs way up... 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA Feb 20, 2009 pours a dark brown with a thin tan head
taste of malt and a hint of coffee
really a decent beer and extremly drinkable Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Feb 17, 2009 Sample courtesy of Jbo. Pours a clear dark amber with a ring of off-white head. Sweet plum on the nose, with lots of soy sauce and raisin in the flavor. Okay, but possibly oxidized and didn’t really do anything for me. BrotherGrendel (545), San Diego (La Jolla), California, USA Feb 9, 2009 A- Pours a dark red/husky brown hue, head is a few fingers’ of white creamy foam with good retention, moderate lacing
S- Nose is of moderately sweet caramel malts, a touch of coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, and roastiness
T- Initial taste is of roasted malts dominated by caramel and chocolate flavors, progresses to slight hop bitter/dryness and grains, finish is brief, overall very well-balanced
M- Light/medium-bodied beer, watery texture, carbonation is a bit amped up and biting, little residual on the palate
D- 5%abv means this is one smooth-drinking session beer, I really like the taste profile and aromas from this Dunkel style kingbubbatex (4), boise, Idaho, USA does not count Feb 8, 2009 Poured from 500 ml bottle. Mainly hit by the roasted malt flavor. Light mouth feel. Carbonation is almost fizzy. Light and drinkable with the roasted flavors and a caramel finish with a slightly fruity aftertaste. mcsquint (93), , Missouri, USA Feb 8, 2009 Poured from 500ml bottle into a large mug.
Aroma - Aromas of caramel, clove and banana
Appearance - Dark copper\red in color with 2 finger white head. Head diminished rather quickly. Very little lacing.
Flavor - Caramel with dried fig, clove and banana
Palate - A bit slick with very little carbonation
Overall - This reminds me of an English Bitter. It’s OK. I expected much more from this because the Celebrator and Centennial lager from the same brewery were incredible.
