Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Pours a clear dark garnet/amber with a substantial light tan head that provides lacing. Nutty roasted malt aroma. Sweet roasted malt flavor along with some molasses and mild hop spiciness. Very good example of the style. A simple, but flavorful dunkel that’s easy to quaff.

Pours a dark red with a very foamy off white head with good retention. Aromas of raisins, roasted malts, caramel, toffee, and plumps/figs. Flavors of figs, roasted malts, slight raisin, light toffee, caramel, and wood. Slightly dry finish much like corked wine.

(Bottle) Pours a copper-ish reddish brown colour with a creamy off-white head. The aroma holds caramel and bread from the rather wort-like maltiness. Some hops in the background. The flavour is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Metal, dry caramel, light dark bread and light hops. The mouthfeel is clean, maybe too clean, I would have liked a rounder profile. Near medium carbonation. Light after bitterness. Light to medium bitter.

Purchased from a party store in Ann Arbor, MI. Mostly to help me forget I’m in Ann Arbor, MI. Hazelnut chocolate color, head a little stingy, smells like caramel, chocolate, and spices. Real nice on a real cold night.

One of my new favs. It pours in a deep chestnut color with a nice white head. Amorma is sweet malt, light toasted bread with hints of nuts. Taste is full bodied with a nice mix of sweet and bitterness. The palate last a nice long time begging you to take another sip.

I havn’t had many dunkels, but this beer has gotten me more interested. The aroma is sweet and inviting, and the flavor is moderately sweet and rich and deep while the beer itself is not too heavy, providing for an interesting contrast. The palate is creamy and smooth. There are great notes toast and malt through the finish. Overall quite enjoyable.
