Ruby dark-brown color with creamy off-white head. Light roasted aroma. Typical (delicious) dunkel taste: smokey roasted malt. Finish is short but pleasant. Another excellent beer from Ayinger. (6/5/8/5/16 4.0)

Pours a great dark brown with a big, creamy off white head on top. Aroma is sweet, lots of dough and light caramel. Some rye bread as well. Great mouthfeel, rather creamy. Flavour is mild, malty sweet. Rye, dough, lightly roasted and some slight caramel. A smoky and hoppy bitter finish. A very good dunkel. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma is malty and showed hints of herbal honey and brown sugar. The taste is definitely on the sweet end, dark earthy fruits with notes of smoke in the finish. So quaffable that you basically feel the water quality used in this concoction was as good as it gets. Aftertaste is... fresh, like I had just brushed my teeths with more toothpaste than I should have used. Still, what I prefered about this beer is its refreshing lager character combined with a marvellous creamy round texture which makes you keep it on the tongue for a while before swallowing. Cheers Todd.
