Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Very nice creamy head which leaves some nice lacing. Dusty, bready malt aroma. Excellent deep reddish/brown in color. Flavor is mostly roasted malts with a hint of coffee and some hops. A well balanced beer. Nice bitter finish from the hops. A very good dunkel.

In a recent post, someone had called Aying one of the best breweries in the world. I would have to agree...I don’t really like the Dunkel style, but this is so good, so fresh, so classy, that one has to appreciate it’s qualities. Subtly sweet in a dunkley way, perfect malting, smooth, warms excellently. Thinninsh mouthfeel, which (I think) is appropriate for the style...(?). Lordy, what a great beer.

Pours a deep dark brown. Aromas of roasted malts, smoke, and hints of fruit. Flavors of the roasted malts, some fruit, with a coffee aftertaste.

This was quite good. Chestnut brown under an ample tan head. The aroma was sweet malt, chocolate, molasses, some herbs. Texture was a tad thin but otherwise medium bodied. The flavor was a pleasant sweet maltiness without being cloying. Some brown sugar, chocolate, malted milk balls. Nicely done beer that is certain to please.

Clear brown body with a medium-sized off-white head. Toffee, raisin nose, with clean yeast and light roast. Flavor is lightly sweet with light, dusty chocolate, some raisins, roast and toffee. Medium body is soft with moderate carbonation.

Pours a light mahogany into a shaker. Fluffy micro head with excellent retention leaves sheets as it slightly recedes. Fresh malt aromas. Flat and watery with sweet dried fruits and with a coffee and fig finish.

500 ml bottle. No date, but there is a touch of oxidation. Brown and garnet with a nice tan cap on top. Strong malt nose featuring chocolate, and toffee. No hops here. Buttery chocolate with a drying at the end. Light carb is nice. Well worth the coupole of bucks fo the bottle.
