Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Aroma is of sweet lager. Great dark red color. Head is perfect, not too rocky, but resilient non the less. Very smooth to drink. Full to medium mouthfeel. Big malty taste, hops are subdued and are more bitter toward a fizzy finish. Not a bad beer.

Clear red-brown body with a finger of creamy off white head. Light burnt caramel, a bit of fruitiness in the aroma. The taste is similar with big scorched sugar up front, sweet with a nice fruity finish.

Amber of color with a light beige head. An aroma of malt, animal, hay, toffee notes. A flavor of nuts, toffee, caramel, notes of roasted malt and a bitter finish.

Dark and interesting. I’m not a fan of the dark stuff, but this was an alright beer. Good texture, not too thick.

Stands out among other dark lagers with some richness in carmel-toffee textures with lighter roast than your nose might at first have you believe, very easy, some dark fruit esters, an accessible entry level beer for those fearing ’dark beers’.

#2 of my 3 bottle ayinger spree tonight. this one pours kind of dark, looks more like a dark iced tea. small head that goes away. smells malty. has a mild coffee flavor, with a sweet fruity aftertaste. this is really good. much better than the one i just drank.

Bottle. Pours deep amber with a beige head. The aroma is malty sweet with toast and caramel. The flavor is more toasty and less sweet than the aroma. Nice.

500 ml bottle purchased at Lukas in Overland Park, Kansas. Pour is mostly clear caramel brown, cola, with a two inch tan head that falls fairly quick. Aroma of sweet caramel toffee malt, toasty bread grain, and some apple fruit sweetness. There is also a faint roasted background, just a whisper. Taste is the toasted grain and sweet malt initially, with the apple fruit elements trailing in the finish. The roast is not present until the longish finish. Palate is medium to thin, highly carbonated. This is a smooth, drinkable beer, but just a bit too sweet for my liking.
