More molases and caramel tones. The finish is lightly dry and slightly acidic. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Poured a clear amber with lots of tiny bubbles. Rich, foamy head. Sweet aroma with a yeast/bread undertone. Flavor is malty with a roasted fruit to it, the finish is smooth. But, there is not as much going on as I anticipated. And my label was slightly different then the one pictured. JohnnyJ (1352), Carlsbad, California, USA

Nutty flavors of roasted malt and a little bit of fruit and coffee. Thin, fairly sweet and easy to drink. kwoeltje (1330), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Pours dark brown with a impressive tall head. Smells of milk chocolate and faint bacon. Thin, watery texture pushes the roasted notes to the sides of the mouth. Certainly redrinkable, but I was hoping for something with more body and oomph. boFNjackson (1322), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Bottle... Poured deep burgandy with a huge frothy head. Aroma is great, roasted nuts, tea and plums. Palate is smooth, with flavors of roasted malt, caramel and a touch of hops for a mild, refreshing bitterness. Some other chocolate, mild coffee flavors too. Very hearty. Darkover (1316), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 5, 2003 Dark ruby color with a big beige head. Malt aroma. Flavor of malt, nuts and caramel. Slightly bitter and dry finish. Very good. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Brown with clear red shine, big bubbled head stays long, leaves laces; Huge nose, deep, first loads of grapefruit (like the carbonation blows in your face), later notes of soil, dark baked white bread, loads of character; Quite bitter/ acidy body, a bit to the watery thin side; Long but again watery thin finish that has a chewy bitterness and the same aroma as the nose. I find that the character of nose and body isn’t all that coherent.
