Dark well roasted malts, good bitterness, from the roasting more than from hops, sweet almost wheat beer spicey fruitiness and rounded mouth. JaBier (1219), Capital City, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours deep clear chestnut with pillowy, soft beige head. Nice malt flavor, mild hops. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Appears copper with aubunr trim. Even layer of head across the glass. Aroma is alt caramel, and malt grain. Texture is pure and refined and is easily drunk. The malt has a very light sweet taste with mre flavor siding towards caramel most of all. From the bottle
Froths up into a big tan head in the stein; the aroma is molassas and plum, with a bit of leather and yeast and humus. As the beer warms, it takes on a strong, unmistakable, and curious if not as unpleasant-as-it-might-sound scent of agar. The flavor is not as sweet as I’d expected, with smoky malt, bittersweet burnt sugar, hints of peat and corkboard. Despite adequate carbonation, the mouthfeel is a bit thin and round rather than crisp; the finish provides a bit of smoke-and-hops bitterness.
This is a reasonably good beer, but not a standout like Ayinger’s Celebrator.

be an altbier. Medium off-white head. Brown,
slightly red see through color. Aroma is slightly
malty--little nutty even. Flavor is light roasty, light
in palate, crisp, and tasty. Has a decent bitter finish,
and a dry mouth feel. Better than I expected. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA

Sweet aroma of raisin and some smokiness. The flavor was fruity mixed with malts and a slight smokey aftertaste. Light and dry. Tranquillity (1167), Espoo, Finland
