Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Sweet aroma, walnut coconut and honey in there. Dark brown colour, little white foam. Taste quite smokey, cherry as well. Long finish.

(500 ml bottle) Clear medium brown, soft pillowy biscuit head. Nose of sweet maltiness, hay, brown sugar, caramel. Good lacing. Silky mouthfeel. Tastes of fine malty sweetness, some smokiness. Mildly bitter finish. Great.

Poured reddish-brown with an off-white head that left a thin lacing on the glass. Faint spicy aroma. Tasted rather thin, with some roasted malt. A rather unpleasant soy sauce character is evident. One of the poorest selections I’ve had from Ayinger.

Deep, cloudy brown pour with a big foamy head that lasts and laces. Aroma of roasted caramel malt and milk chocolate, with some bready grain and fruit. Flavor follows the same pattern. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate. Just a touch of bitterness on the finish. Very nice!

It actualy surprised me to find this where I live. My town often gets boring with its selections since I've already had everything they have to offer. I rarely get a chance to be surprised. Has a dustiness in the aroma that was very appealing. Rich amber colour with large head that ended up on my table. My nose could actually taste a bitter with this however the actual taste wasn't that bitter at all. Well balanced and smooth. However I don't find it that complex. A treat for where I live.

bottled: this one pours light brown with a tan head that disipated quickly, not alot of co2. nose is mostly malty, not alot up the nares. taste is sweet and light crystal malt, choc malt. one of the most sweet and light dunkels i have ever had. good, but i cant imagine drinking many of them at once. needs a little more bite for me.
