Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Bottle: Clear brown colo with small tan head. The aroma is sweet malts and slightly metallic. The taste has rich flavors of caramel and toffee. The feel is fairly thin with lots of carbonation and a seet aftertaste. Its a good beer with pizza.

Pours a nice brown color with a large fizzy head that diminishes quickly. Has an aroma of sweet malts, coffee and caramel. Flavor is malty. Slight smokiness to it along with caramel and dark fruits. The mouth is fairly thin and fizzy but refreshing as well. Pretty good.

The underappreciated style done right. Wonderful balance of dark malts. Rich, but not overdone, in keeping with the style. Balanced, but terribly fun. As Philly2112 says, don’t look for hops here. That’s just not the point.

Bottled. Roastmalty, slightly coffeish with cocoa-like notes. Dry hop-bitter, roastmalty taste. Coffeish notes. Ends quite dry. Full body for the style with a smooth mouthfeel. Would love to have this on tap, as it is a little behind the best Czech dunkels I had fresh from tap. Great stuff.

Pours a clear dark amber with a creamy off white head that leaves some lacing in my glass, bready, fruity aromas. Nutty caramel, chocolate flavors, medium bodied with a creamy smooth mouthfeel, surprisingly it has a somewhat dry finish, a great lager.

cloudy dark brown slightly reddish color foamy head, Aroma had a faint spice to it with a malty character as the focus. Taste starts sweet and malty with almost a mollasses teaser near the front and ends with a strong bitterness. slight fruitiness to the taste. Never had an dunkel like thise.

Very malty. A good dark lager but just a little weak and watery on the finish, which keeps it from being top of the line. Smells great!
