Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Aroma of sweet dark malts, grains, and yeast. Darkish amber color with a small tan head. Smooth flavor that gets sweeter in the finish. Light bodied.

This is just about the best Dunkel I’ve ever had. Dunkel is not a style I am generally all that excited about, but this is just very nice. This looks about like any dark lager, it’s a deep brown with a fluffy white head that has perhaps one of the greatest retentions I have ever seen, I actually drank half of this beer last night at home, left and went to the bar, and when I came back an hour later it was sitting there in the mug with a head still on it! Plenty of lace is left on the glass. The aromas are strongly of sweet roasted malt. The flavor is lightly malty sweet with a very faint roastedness, however there are just a ton of flavors in this coffee, chocolate, and raisin are the first that pop into the head. This has a nice soft palate and is very easy to drink, I had a Budweiser after I drank this and that bud was just harsh in comparison.

First thing: Took off the cap - smelt exactly like dry cat food - exactly - that is a dead-on smell as I’ve ever had. I don’t care what anyone else has said in their reviews, if you have a bottle of this, get some dry cat food and compare when you open - it’s dead on - every other review is sub-par on aroma. Still does in the glass - that sweet, dry cerealish....can’t get around that. Guess I like cat food cause this beer is awsome! A modest head arose then disapeared leaving a closer to tan than white coating. The taste is what makes this beer. Still some dry cat food hanging around (I’ve tried all my cats food before, so I guess I’m an expert) but it’s better than average dry hoppy finish, mild malts and slight sourness is what really impresses me. Beautiful reddish brown looks killer in my glass which is quickly getting more and more empty due to endless sips. Creamy dry bitter malty finish. Excellent. Remember - Dry cat food in liquid form. Don’t think about that too much or you’ll start to feel sick.

Pours a clear rather dark brown with reddish hues. The head is tan and bubbly evaporating leisurely to leave a quarter inch head. The aroma is very sweat and caramely, rich. It is a very nicely sweet caramel and chocolate malts on the tongue with a gentle lingering bittterness of dark chocolate and I still sense caramel. Rich and thick in the mouth with a playful tingle this is very nice.

Very tasty and well-put-together Dunkel. Bottled, enjoyed with the wife at home. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a decent head. Malty nose offers sweet creamy coffee, toffee, caramel, and fruity note like red currant. Mild residual sweetness in flavor with mild bitterness for good balance, plus a refreshing touch of bready sourness. Light- to medium-bodied and thirst-quenching yet shows great character.

Poured deep red with off-white head. Mediciney aroma among the malts. Flavour of malt and toast, no coffee notes at all. Mediciney notes among the finish with the fruit. It was OK, but there are many better dunkels around.
