Light sweet, dark caramel flavor, light bitter, chocolat in the finish, light herbal, light nutty. Medium body and light dry in the finish. Like a lighter version of the Celebrator. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2003 Aroma of malt and grains, slight floral hops and grapefruit. Banana and clove with raisin smells with a nice dose of yeast. Average fizzy beige head that vanishes after a few minutes. Clear carmel red color. Acidic and sour flavors at first followed by a short acidic finish. Easy on the palate and semi watery but easy to drink. Soft carbonation with a slightly astringent finish. Overall a very straight forward dunkel with nice complexities. Refreshing and easy to drink even with the interesting aroma. Tmoney99 (4777), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2005 Pours deep copper with medium off-white head and big carbonation bubbles. Aroma is caramel malt, hopcit, dark fruit, hops, nuts. Tastes very caramelly, withy some figgy and nutty and toffee elements at mid palate and at the finish. The finale gets extremely caramelly, perhaps moreso than any other beer I’ve ever had. This beer is very complex and well balanced, and as with other Ayinger beers, it is exceptional in quality. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 21, 2002 Updated: Sep 22, 2004Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is clear medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, roasted nuts, caramel, milk chocolate), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of toffee, cigar box, and vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Mmmmm, waffles...drizzled with caramel and ground nuts (almonds, pecans). *drool* The only thing I like more than Ayinger beer is re-reviewing Ayinger beer. Seemingly fresh bottle, which helps the score...this ain't a beer to age. By the time I finished rating this, all 50cl was in my stomach...simply irresistable! Not all Ayinger beers are world class, but this is one of them when it can be had in good condition. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 15, 2001 Phenomenal dark lager with as much maltiness and chocolatey-velvety texture as you’d ever want. Amazing nose; flowery and vinous hints, another winner from Ayinger. motelpogo (4395), Plzen, Czech Republic
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2003 a treat to observe. a bit lacking in aroma. remarkably free of sweetness, the dominant flavours being a horseradish spiciness and caramelised soy sauce at the bottom of the wok. not out of this world but oh well HenrikSoegaard (4379), Randers, Denmark
