Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Very good for a dunkel. Nicely full bodied, but not overwhelming at all. Dark fruit and malt flavor dominates the taste. Not much else going on. Well balanced and very drinkable. Lightly sweet with a lightly dry finish. I am not a huge fan of the style though.

Deep red color with a puffy white head. Sweet malty, plum aroma with hints of chocolate. Sweet almost cherry flavor. Balanced very well. Medium bodied. Flavor is very refreshing, almost dangerous. A little hop bitterness in the finish. Very, very drinkable.

500ml bottle. Beautiful pour...thick rocky head, frantic craze of carbonation, beauty of a wooden brown color. Smells nice & malty w/ a light mix of fruit and nuts...Malty, nutty flavor is smooth & slightly sweet...body is light, making for a very tasty session beer. I think Ayinger might be one of my favorite German breweries.

Nice dark amber/red. Foamy white head. Malty chocolate caramel smell. Sweet coffee bitter flavor. The bitterness is quite nice but doesn't overpower everything. It isn't an overload of hops bitter. Quite nice but I've had better.

plum colored pour with minimal head. aroma of figs, cherry, licorice, raisins, and malt- very nice, one of my first forays into the dunkel category. tastes sort of like a belgian ale but with a very dry finish- maintains the sweet fruit at the start and through the middle. palate is nice, the dry finish is a very nice twist. very tasty.

Bottle shared with the Dev Knights - Poured a clean caramel gold, white head with some lacing. Malt smooth with caramel and light grains. Flavor is really mild and refreshing, good hot day drinker.

500 ml bottle. Mug. Mahogany with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt and cocoa. Taste has notes of coffee, dark chocolate and roast malt. It was a bit thin and watery for my taste though.

~Sweet malt aroma, hints of chocolate and caramel. ~Pours a copper color, very clear, with small off white head. ~Rich malty flavor. Bready, some carmel, malty throughout. ~Medium full bodied, creamy, moderate carbonation.. ~Enjoyable brew. Heavier, but still refreshing. nicely sweetened without being overly cloying.
