Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

In the glass a translucent deep mahogany color, the head mastodonic in size, the texture spumescent and the color a winsome tan. As the head dissolves a satiny sheet of lace is formed to conceal the glass. Nose has hints of caramel, sweet, crisp and fresh, a treat for the senses with start lightly sweet and loaded with malt, top is middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is prickly in its acidity, the hops appropriate to the style, droughty aftertaste that is long lasting, a fine quaffing beer and a pleasure to sample.

Very dark amber color, almost brown. The head was a slight tan frothy, creamy one. Great taste, very smooth with an a hint of caramel in the taste. Slightly roasty nose and taste. Very good I would try this again anyday.

Clear red/brown with a tannish head. Cleen hoppy, grassy, Saaz-y nose with a nice touch of caramel. Lightly sweet, bready malt flavors with hints of chocolate. Decent hop kick at the end. Those boys in Aying seem to know their lager from a hole in the ground...

One of the better dunkels I've run into. Deep red, thin off-white head. Nose full of malts and light roasts. Flavor full of caramel malts, lightly toasted, pleasingly sweet. Good stuff.

Clear dark amber color. Malty in both aroma and flavor. Slightly buttery. Spicy dry finish.

Malty and a bit tangy. Caramel. Crisp and sweet hoppiness. Rye. Off-white foamy lacing head atop beautiful clear deep coppery red/brown. Medium thick watery body and medium carbonation. Nice and malty. Not too sweet. Nice nutty finish and after. Good balance of sweet malt and bitterness. An enjoyable dunkel.

I like the name ’Ayinger’. This is the first dark beer I’ve ever tasted. It is buttery which I like and has a good balancing dryness.
