Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Quite a bit more ’dunkel’ than other Germany-style ’dark lagers’ I’ve tried. Had a dark, albeit see-through brownish-ruby red color. This smelled like a bavarian lager all the way, and the flavor was exceptional while at the same time consistent with other examples of the style I’ve tried. However, the flavor was definitely more pronounced. Aftertaste was not overpowering, and lent more to the malts.

Sweet malty aroma. Flavor was malty and slightly bitter (in a good way). Sort of light on the palate.. not as heavy a beer as some of these dark beers are. Refreshing.

Dark red-brown with a nice head and yeasty, slightly hoppy aroma. Double-bock character with grape, prune, and brown sugar flavors. Sweet, smooth, and medium bodied with a nutty yeastiness to the finish. Yeast became more prominent as it warmed.

Pours a brown color, with a hint of red around the edges. Aroma is roasty and malty. Maybe a little bit of coffee in there as well. Flavor starts off with a little bit of sweet chocolate and finishes with a bit of burnt malt. Flavors are well balanced.

THE beer to have with sausage. Dark, beautiful color that smells of toffe. Very sweet with a lingering finish. The only thing i did not like was the wateriness of it.

Amber in color with a lumpy beige head. Aroma was of caramel and raisin....notes of tobacco too. Taste was much the same, a little meatiness with some coffee in the finish.

a treat to observe. a bit lacking in aroma. remarkably free of sweetness, the dominant flavours being a horseradish spiciness and caramelised soy sauce at the bottom of the wok. not out of this world but oh well

Clear dark amber color, medium head and fairly good lacing. Mild malty nose, slightly toasty. It's a malty beer and is silky smooth. Medium body and finishes a little caramely. A very tasty Dunkel.
