Nice enough looking dunkel poured in the glass chesnut brown with a nice large foamy white head..leaves great lacing.
Nice malty aroma.. milky , chocolaty..some hop aroma in back.
Taste is very sweet to begin with then darker ,bitterer tastes take hold..hop aftertaste..good but to "fizzy"
I did not enjoy the mouthfeel of this beer..its too carbonated.
apart from the carbonation level..this is a nice drinkable dunkel.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 11, 2005 This was quite good. Chestnut brown under an ample tan head. The aroma was sweet malt, chocolate, molasses, some herbs. Texture was a tad thin but otherwise medium bodied. The flavor was a pleasant sweet maltiness without being cloying. Some brown sugar, chocolate, malted milk balls. Nicely done beer that is certain to please. wxman (587), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
